RoboBoat is an international competition that invites participants to tackle simplified versions of challenges facing the modern maritime industry. These challenges may include coastal surveillance, port security, oceanographic exploration, and cooperative behavior between systems operating in different domains (air and sea).
Congrats UPRM RoboBoat Team for making it to the water today! #roboboat.

RoboBoat is an international competition that invites participants to tackle simplified versions of challenges facing the modern maritime industry. These challenges may include coastal surveillance, port security, oceanographic exploration, and cooperative behavior between systems operating in different domains (air and sea). The RoboBoat student competition is designed to build an international community of innovators – ranging from high school to higher education, capable of making substantive contributions to the maritime field and pushing development of small scale (X-Class) Unmanned Surface Vehicles (USV).

SeaPerch is an innovative underwater robotics program that equips teachers and students with the resources they need to build an underwater Remotely Operated Vehicle (ROV) in an in-school or out-of-school setting. RoboBoat was established to generate, cultivate, and enhance a community of innovators driven to making substantive contributions to the Autonomous Surface Vehicle (ASV) domain, and inspire the next generation at sea. Collaboration, competition and community.

Teams from around the world design autonomous, robotic boats to navigate through a challenge course. Aside from demonstrating some impressive maritime manueverability, these student-built boats are designed to tackle tasks that mimic real-world challenges facing the maritime industry. RoboNation, Inc. (previously the AUVSI Foundation) began operation in 2009 with generous support from AUVSI and three founding partners – SolidWorks, Northrop Grumman and Insitu (a Boeing company).

RoboNation, Inc. (previously the AUVSI Foundation) began operation in 2009 with generous support from AUVSI and three founding partners – SolidWorks, Northrop Grumman and Insitu (a Boeing company). Today, RoboNation is an independent, tax exempt, 501(c)3 nonprofit whose mission is to provide a pathway of hands-on educational experiences that empower students to find innovative solutions to global challenges.
Roboboat is a yearly internal competition held in Daytona Beach every June. The competition teams are tasked with creating a autonomous boat capable of handling tasks as designated by Robobonation.
